Cancellation, Refund & Modification Policy

At Ceylonster.com, we act as an Online Travel Agency connecting guests with hotels, villas, and other accommodation providers across Sri Lanka. By making a booking through our platform, you agree to the cancellation and refund rules below, as well as the property‑specific policies shown during booking.


1. Free Cancellation (Up to 3 Days Before Check‑in)

Guests may cancel their booking free of charge if the cancellation request is made at least 3 days before the check‑in date.

  • No cancellation fee
  • Full refund issued
  • Refund processed to the original payment method

2. Partially Refundable Bookings (Within 3 Days of Check‑in)

If a cancellation request is made within 3 days of the check‑in date, the booking becomes partially refundable.

Refund details:

  • 50% of the total amount will be refunded
  • Refund will be initiated once the property confirms the cancellation

3. Peak‑Season Bookings

Peak‑season bookings follow the property’s default cancellation policy.

  • No special seasonal rules added
  • Refund/eligibility depends on the property’s standard policy

4. Non‑Refundable Bookings

Some room types may be listed as Non‑Refundable.
For such bookings:

  • No refund is provided once the reservation is made
  • No‑show or late cancellation will be charged 100%

These terms will be clearly displayed before payment.


5. No‑Show Policy

If the guest does not arrive at the property on the check‑in date without cancelling:

  • The booking will be marked as a No‑Show
  • No refund will be issued
  • Charges follow the property’s rules

6. Booking Modifications (Date or Guest Changes)

Modifications are not guaranteed and depend on the following:

  • Property approval
  • Room availability
  • Price differences (if any)

7. Refund Process & Timeline

Once the cancellation is approved by the property:

  • Refund will be processed within 7–14 working days
  • Funds will be returned to the original payment method
  • Bank processing times may vary

If the refund is delayed after 14 working days, please contact us.


8. Property‑Initiated Cancellations

In rare cases, a hotel or villa may cancel a booking due to:

  • Operational issues
  • Maintenance or safety concerns
  • Overbooking

If this happens, Ceylonster.com will:

  1. Try to rebook you in a similar property
  2. If not possible, provide a full refund

We are not responsible for additional expenses such as transport, flight costs, or personal losses.

  • Booking ID
  • Guest name
  • Check‑in date
  • Property name
